The Shortfalls of Today’s Institutional Pharmacies
If you’re the head of a long-term care facility or a nurse who works with patients, then you know the shortfalls of today’s institutional pharmacies.  Here are just a few of them.
  • Pharmacies determine the medication processes that facilities must follow.  The result: You are powerless to improve communication or speed up the process for the delivery of routine and emergency medications.

  • Nurses currently spend approximately four hours in each eight-hour shift dealing with medications.  The result:  A lot of time is wasted, sometimes preventing complete care for patients.

  • Most pharmacies send 30 days of medications with each order without a stop date.  The result: Skilled nursing facilities and their pharmacies end up throwing away $4 billion worth of unused drugs a year, with patients, insurance companies and taxpayers footing the bill.

  • Sending 30 days of medications is in the best interest of the pharmacy – not the patient, nurse or payer.  The result:  Pharmacies rake in unnecessary profits, making it more difficult for patients to afford adequate health care.

  • The current system often results in medication errors.  The result:  Government statistics show that between 150,000 and 800,000 serious injuries have occurred, sometimes leading to death.

Things are about to change!  New Day Pharmacy has developed revolutionary products and services that address all of these issues.
